MAN FROM THE SEA

Logline: A young man in search of his father, who after witnessing a massacre, manages to uncover a web of illegal activities and the truth about himself.

Synopsis: In Algeria,where Ottman, a young man is living a normal life but then his mother dies. After the funeral, Ottman looks through his mother s’ papers, and finds a picture of a man who strikingly resembles him. He takes the picture and confronts his uncle, his mother s’ brother. Half heartedly, the uncle admits that the man in the picture was his father, an Italian business .. Ottman insists that he must find his father but his uncle forbids him to go without giving him any
specific explanation.
Determined to find his father and against his uncle s’ advice, Ottman sets off with his best friend Jamal, on an illegal trip to Italy, together with other people mainly from Africa.
The trip is interrupted by Barry, a drug addict who works for Roy,
owner of a large yacht in Malta. Barry orders the immigrants to be transferred to another small boat. The immigrants resist but are all killed by but for the girls who are taken to the yacht, and Ottman and Jamal who jump and swim. Jamal is shot and only Ottman survives.
Ottman finds himself on Maltese shores, hides in a boat house and is found by Madeline a young woman who is married to Mark, a business man and a friend of Barry and Roy. Madeline refers him Fr. Charles a priest in the village who offers shelter to Ottman under his roof..
In Malta Ottman starts a new life while the priest helps him in the search for his father.
Ottman, is attracted to Madeline but she is in love with her husband but gradually start befriending Ottman.
Tormented by his past events, Ottman finds a humble job as a gardener whilst hoping of tracing his father one day. He is discovered by Barry who reports Ottman to the police and Ottman is sent to detention centre. With the intervention of Mark, Barry is released and allowed permit to work. His life goes on as well as his affection for Madeline who is able to reciprocate after finding pictures of child pornography in her household. She confronts her husband who denies any involvement with children. Madeline does not believe him, is distressed and attempts to take her own life but is saved by Ottman. Madeline too reveals her affection for Ottman and the two declare their love for each other. Fr. Charles finds out about this relationship and tries to stop Ottman from seeing Madeline. Ottman feels confused but keeps on meeting Madeline.

Meanwhile, Mark does not want his wife to learn more about his secret life and asks Barry to monitor her activities. Barry discovers that Madeline is dating Ottman and takes the opportunity to get him out of the way. From Mark Barry learns about Ottman s’ father. The plan fails but before Barry dies, he maliciously tells Ottman that his father was a terrorist.
Ottman calls his uncle in Algeria who refers him to Khaled an Arab men living in Malta. Khaled tells Ottman that his father was a secret agent and was killed by Roy, who was responsible for human trafficking and more illegal activities.
Madeline asks for separation but on their way to the lawyer, Mark takes a different turn and they end up in an accident. Mark dies and only Madeline survives. Madeline and Ottman realizes their love for each other and Ottman finally finds peace again.



Ottman manages to go to Roy s’ Yacht and there he manages to fulfill his father s’ mission and with his intervention Ottman helps the police to uncover a series of criminal activity including human trafficking, child pornography and abuse of immigrants.
