Western Ukraine, district of Galicia, spring of 1943. Hit squads of Ukrainian Insurgent Army ( UPA ) carry out total "depolonization" – physical extermination of the Polish population of the region.

Russia, near future. Ivan Gromov, former military pilot, member of the first cosmonaut crew, participant of the failed soviet expedition to the Moon in 1968-1969, learns from a TV story about the planned visit of the astronaut Alan Johnson, the commander of Apollo 11 Spacecraft, into Zvezdny Gorodok.

The year of 1951, the peak of the Korean War. Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong render military assistance to the North Korean dictator Kim Il-Sung intending to set control over the peninsula. Trying to avoid the open conflict with the USA having the UNO mandate for a peacekeeping operation, the Soviet Union secretly sends a volunteer corps of the Air Force armed with the newest jet fighters MIG-15. The Lieutenant Petr Orlov, son of the Soviet Union Air Marshal, is trying to use the situation for a fast career progress. In the state of utter annoyance Orlov dares a risky step – to perform a solo flight to the no-fly area in the south of the Korean peninsula. Orlov hopes to shoot down a landing Sabre jet. Failing to find the enemy’s fighter Orlov attacks the US airbase and destroys an air ambulance with seriously wounded infantrymen that was about to take off.
